The Potting Shed, Mumbai

Tucked away in Bandra’s bylanes, The Potting Shed feels like stumbling into a secret garden café in London. With potted plants hanging from wooden beams, mismatched vintage furniture, and the smell of fresh sourdough, it’s Mumbai’s answer to a countryside hideaway.

The People Behind It
Diggin Café was started by Digvijay Singh Bedi, who was inspired by his time in London — summers, café chats, and that hospitality vibe. He studied Finance in Nottingham and then Management at LSE, and it was during those days of eating out often that he got the idea for his own café.

- Why It Made the List
“I’ve been coming to The Potting Shed since it opened, and every visit feels like hitting pause on Mumbai’s madness. It’s one of those rare places where the food matches the vibe — wholesome, thoughtful, and comforting. If you love plants, good coffee, and mornings that feel slow, this one’s for you.”
